The speciality of the Digestive System is defined as that part of Medicine that deals with diseases that affect the digestive tract and associated glandular organs, as well as the repercussions of digestive diseases on the rest of the human organism and, inversely, the repercussions of the diseases of the rest of the organism on the digestive system.
