Neonatology

Dedicated to the specialized care of premature and term infants with congenital or perinatally acquired pathologies; it also has a prenatal consultation service linked to the gynaecology teams. In this way, parents can contact paediatricians before the birth of the baby, in the event of a pathology detected prenatally.

The unit can meet the needs of premature babies from 28 weeks of gestation, establishing the recovery plan and the most appropriate individualized treatment.

It has four incubators for intensive cures and eight incubators/cradle for intermediate cures for a total of twelve neonatal care areas.

The unit has state-of-the-art ventilatory devices or ventilatory support with state-of-the-art technology, as well as the most advanced pharmacological support, including specialized medications and parenteral nutrition.

The family is considered essential in the welfare, care and development of the new-born, which is why the OPEN DOORS regime is promoted (parents can be in the unit as long as they want).
