On November 26, Clínica Corachan, one of the most renowned clinics in Barcelona, with more than 94 years of experience, was awarded first prize in the category of large Private Hospitals at the 10th edition of the TOP 20 Hospitals Awards, organised annually by the consulting firm IASIST.

The awards stimulate the clinical excellence of the hospitals by recognising those that obtain better results using the indicators chosen and assessed by the TOP 20.

At this tenth edition, the programme’s approach to evaluation was refocused on the health problems of patients. Thus, in addition to the evaluation of overall hospital management, starting this year six extremely important clinical areas of hospital activity were evaluated: the Nervous System, Respiratory, Heart, Digestive Surgery, Orthopaedics & Traumatology and the Woman’s Area. In each of these areas specific hospital care processes were evaluated, such as stroke, acute myocardial infarction, hip and knee prosthetic implants, childbirth and breast cancer surgery.
